Have you heard? This past Friday, the Saginaw Valley State University Jazz Combo came to USA Elementary and performed for our students. In music, students have been learning about jazz legend Duke Ellington and elements of jazz like swing and improvisation. SVSU Music Alum, Mrs. Aikens, invited the combo out to perform so students could hear what they had been learning in person! The combo took us on a journey through different jazz styles from Latin Jazz to Funk to Blues. The combo rounded out the performance by taking the students to New Orleans and having them join the parade led by our very own leader, Mr. Bader!
